Take Heed Unto Thyself And Doctrines

Written by mitziyonng

Close to the time of his departure from this world, the Apostle Paul in what seems to be his last words of admonition to his son in the faith, Timothy, gave a very crucial instruction to him. I Timothy 4:6 “Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrines; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 2Timothy 4:3-9 he said, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry, for I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which Yahshua, who is the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”
There is no time in the history of the true worshipers that calls for the need to give earnest heed to this very mportant admonition which the apostle Paul was inspired to give to Timothy than our time.
This is because we are living right at the last days.
And we are witnessing so many confusions all over the world among those who profess belief in the Bible. Yes, so many confusions and contradictions, in Judaism, in Messianic Judaism and in Christendom. We are now at the height of Satan’s deception; we see Satan working with all deceivableness in our time using these tools; miracles, illusions and false doctrines. 2Thersa. 2:9-10 “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved”.
Do you say that it does not matter what one believes as regards doctrine, once he has his conviction that he is born again? The Bible states otherwise. The Holy Spirit inspired the Apostle Paul to write, and stress the fact that the doctrine you believe can either save you and those that hear you or damn you and those that hear you, ITim 4:16. Here the Word of Yahweh is making us to know that you cannot “just believe” anything you like or chose to believe and still make your way into the kingdom simply because you have accepted the Messiah as your Personal Savour.
To buttress this further, he went on to say in 2 Timothy 4:3 cited above that: “…time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine”. And that is the time we are living in. People are not prepared to accept sound doctrine. They cannot embrace the truth! They want miracles, they follow what the majority believe. The above quotation as Paul was inspired to write implies that there are doctrines that are sound and there are doctrines that are not sound, which if you hold unto cannot lead you to the kingdom of Yahweh. Which one do you strive to uphold?
Jude was trying to address the same issue when he wrote in Jude verse 3:
“Beloved when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints”.
Here, the Apostle Jude (Judah in Hebrew) was trying to let us know that just believing in the Messiah and experiencing salvation from sin through repentance and belief in His Name (common salvation) is not enough but that there is every need to put up all earnest struggle (contend) to hold unto what he called “The Faith” which was once delivered to the Saints. “The Faith” here means the form and pattern of belief, doctrine or teaching delivered and entrusted to the early believers once and for all time.
What are those sound doctrines, those timeless Principles that were never expected to change with the time. That do not need innovations, improvement or modernization by human ideologies or by human theologians?
The Old Testament warned, “. Do not add, and do not subtract” Deut. 12:32, The New Testament also warns.
Do not add, and do not subtract” Rev. 22:18-19 see also Prov. 30:6
These sound and unadulterated doctrines entrusted once and for all to the chosen nation Israel (the Jews) and the beloved apostles and disciples (Talmiydim) of our Saviour Yahshua the Messiah are what this magazine – Mitziyon stands to defend and to proclaim in order to prepare you for the kingdom of Yahweh. Mitziyon (Hebrew word meaning from Zion) true to its name will be bringing to you the monumental truth of the ages, which the patriarchs, prophets and apostles believed, defended, stood and died for. What are these fundamental truths of the Scriptures? (1) The identification of the revealed true and personal name of the creator Ex. 3:13-15, Proverb. 30:4.In the above quotation (Moshe) Moses wanted to know the name of the Creator the one who was sending him to deliver the children of Israel. That was where the Creator revealed His Name to Moses as “YAHWEH’, saying, “This is my Name forever and this is My Memorial to all generations” (this is my Name for ever, and by this Name shall I be invoked, called upon throughout all generations) Emphasis mine. Getting this clear, you can now answer the age-old question in Proverbs 30:4 “Who has ascended into heaven, or descended, who has gathered the wind in his fist, who has bound the water in a garment, who has established all the ends of the earth, what is His Name and what is His Son’s Name, if you know?”
(2) His identifying mark of Creatorship, Gen. 2:1-2Ex. 20:8-11. Ez. 20:20. Every manufacturer always have his ‘trade mark impressed on his product for easy identification or mark of ownership. The Creator of heavens and earth did not leave the world and mankind he created without mark of ownership (trade mark). This truth is apparent from the quotation above. He took time to demonstrate this fact (as much as it was very important to Him and for His creatures to get the lesson clearer). As it is written, “And on the Seventh day the Elohim ended the work which He had made; and He rested on the Seventh day from all His work which He had made. And the Elohim blessed the Seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which He created and made” He therefore commanded man in obligation to “remember the Seventh day” to keep it Holy. Why? He gave the answer thus:, “… For in six day Yahweh made heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them and rested on the Seventh day: wherefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it” Ex 20:11. By observing a cessation from work on the Seventh day Sabbath, (Sabbath means rest in Hebrew) and gathering together for worship, mankind will be upholding the indelible mark of the true Creator (His trade mark). In doing this, they will be testifying to the fact that He (Yahweh) is the true Creator of heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein, and all mankind.” This is why He declared that the Sabbath is the identifying sign, (mark) of His people or the true worshipers: “And hallow my Sabbath; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your Elohim” Eze.20:20. “The Sabbath was made for man…” Mark 2:27- 28. Also Isa. 56:1-7, Here He says that any man (not only Israelites or the Jews) who keeps the Sabbath, not polluting it will be blessed. Cain and Abel observed it Gen. 4:3 (see footnote on King James version).Abraham observed it – Gen.26:5. All the patriarchs and the prophets observed it, Neh.13:15-19. Yahshua the Messiah observed it. (Luke 4:16). The Apostles observed it-Acts 13:27, 42-44 16:13, 17:2. Which day is the Sabbath day? The Seventh day is the Sabbath day. Which day is the seventh day? Saturday is the seventh day. For proof see Matt 28:1. “After the Sabbath comes the first day of the week-Sunday for further proof, check your dictionary, under the words “Saturday”, “Sunday”, or “Monday.” Also check any good calendar at your homes or offices. Why then do we observe Sunday as a day of worship instead of Saturday? We observe Sunday as a day of worship instead of Saturday because the Roman Empire by the power of Edict through a pagan Emperor Constantine the great transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday, See Dan. 7:25. You will read more of this in our subsequent issues. (3) Finally the true worshiper’s attention is drawn to the great closing remark of the last book of the Old Testament by the prophet Malachi in Mal.4:4 “Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes a and judgments. What are the statutes and what are the judgments? How relevant are they today to the New Testament worshiper? These fundamental, though neglected truths of the Holy Scriptures will be made clearer to you as you always read Mitziyon magazine to keep abreast of the sound doctrines, “The faith that was once delivered unto the Saints.” So that you will be perfected in the truth for the soon coming kingdom of Yahweh. This is Mitziyon magazine, re-educating a mal-educated world!
“These sound and unadulterated doctrines are what this Magazine – Mitziyon stands to defend and to proclaim, in order to prepared you for the coming kingdom of Yahweh.” (MZ)
