An acre of performance supersedes a whole world of promise. Well done is always better than well said. Promises may gain friends, but it is only performance that will keep them. Failed promise turns friends into enemies. It is like a friend who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and takes it the moment it starts raining. The test of sincerity is not in words but in deeds. Words are of no value if they are not accompanied with appropriate deeds.
Faithfulness is a desirable policy. Health is the best gift; contentment is the best wealth and faithfulness is the best relationship. Righteousness is often costly to the man who keeps to it at all hazards, but in the end it will bear its own expenses and returns infinite profit. We write judgment upon our lives by our faithfulness or unfaithfulness at the present moment. Intelligence will take you to the top of your career but only integrity will keep you there.
Don’t live in lies, it does not reward. The Chameleon can only change its colour to blend with the foliage, but it remains the same on the inside. No matter how long a piece of wood remains in the water, it can never become fish; rather staying in the water makes it good for nothing. Reputation can be false. It is what people think of you: character is what is real. Discipline yourself to have a good character. Discipline and regret are both painful. If you fail to willingly accept the pain of discipline, the pain of regret will be forced on you. Don’t make your life to be like a mirage in the desert. The closer you get, the more disappointed you become because it is an illusion.
Our King never said that we would know His people by their teachings but by their fruits. The way to measure our messianism is by how close we are to the Messiah and how much of His character we display; being like Him, not just talking about Him. It makes no difference what our doctrine of holiness is. True holiness comes only to the man who seeks after it with all his heart, and not to the one who merely has the correct teaching in his head. So also is this essential ingredient of life called love. Well done is always better than well said. Be better than your words. If you preach the greatest truths but do not live them, you are only the greatest hypocrite, and the most tormented soul. Do not try to teach others to do what you are not doing. Begin to do, and then, to teach. Let your words be seasoned with salt not acid. And do your best to avoid wounding your brother while fighting the evil that is controlling him. To be careless is to care less. Joining in unity with a wounded saint helps to bring healing and restoration. In the home, a sick child gets more attention. No one will ever be in the kingdom of heaven because he is qualified but because he obtained grace. Healing power operates through our compassion for others. It is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these weak ones should perish. Be a recovery van for the lost and wounded. Better be careful what you should do than be sorry for what you have done.
