Our view of it is the only difference between an opportunity and an obstacle. Something happens for something to happen. Try to see something positive in all that happens. Have you not known that all things are happening for your good? There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so. Obstacle, as it may be called, is one common thing to both the successful and the unsuccessful people. The successful overcome their obstacles while the unsuccessful complain about theirs. Optimism and pessimism made the difference. Good percentage of all the failures comes from people fond of complaining. I diagnose your problem to be the thought of your heart. My prescription therefore is: “be you transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Let the eyes of your understanding be enlightened that you may begin to see truth and not facts. What the mind sees is better than what the eyes can see. There is beauty in all situations; when it is raining, look for rainbow; when it is dark, look for stars. Those who wish to sing always finds a song.
The only place we can cure our lacks and troubles is in the mind-our own mind. When we have done it there we shall find that they are cured everywhere. It is not the external conditions and circumstances that hinder you. It is the you inside you, that is hindering you. Turn the so called obstacle into stepping stone. Even if you think that your case is getting out of control, I think there is no need for us to be stressed over a situation we cannot control. The safest place for something to be is “out of our control”. When you imagine that everything is lost, you are often on the point of acquiring great merit. Everything is not lost just because something goes wrong. Whenever life is proving difficult for any reason whatsoever, you must not abandon hope and behave as if things would never improve. Light came out of darkness. Your sun will soon arise. Who could have told Abraham that Sarah would give him a son at his old age. He waited many years for the impossible thing to happen and it happened. The efforts of men are fulfilled by the assistance of the Almighty. He will help you. Let David fling the stone with his catapult and leave the rest for his Creator.
The natural capacities of human beings in a difficult situation are two; fight or flight, applied either physically or mentally. All winners fight. The champion is that contender that refused to give up. He is always sanguine of success. Do not forget that there is no one who does not have where it pains. Even the great lion has to fight off flies. Difficulties lie in our habit of thoughts rather than in nature of things. Fear does not exist anywhere except in the mind You can win, though you face the worst, if you feel that you are going to do it. Take the Creator for an example of courage. In the beginning of His Creation, the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep, yet He went on to achieve a perfect creation. You are not the only one who has problems. Those who succeed, succeed in-spite of problems.
Success is very costly, only those who pay the price get it. Let someone tell you the cost of success. If you wake up and find success, you have not been really asleep. Success is never an overnight phenomenon. It is a result of years of efforts, failures and restarts. It is a result of hurdles cleared and problems avoided; and passion for success kept burning. In this our world of reality, if any well dressed successful man wishes to show you the way to success, he will remove his cloths and show you the scars on his body. Even the Son of Man is still bearing His own scars. He who fights and overcomes takes his bride. If it is difficult to get to where you want to get to, then have respect for those who have gotten there. Find out what it takes to be successful, and honour the successful if truly you want to succeed. Don’t love success but hate the successful.
