On the day you were born, people rejoiced because they believed someone great was born. What do you think; that they were right or wrong? I believe that they were right, the ups and downs you have been facing notwithstanding. Greatness is in you. You were born an achiever that is why the desire is in you. Someone had explained desire to mean the Creator knocking at your door with His supplies.
Never give up. Pursue until you overcome. Go after what you want in life. He who dares is he who achieves. What keeps people from success is fear of failure or of making a mistake. Making a mistake is no abomination, it will help you next time. No perfect man has ever lived on earth. Try what you want to try, if you fail, opportunities to succeed still abound. I have learned more from my mistakes than from my successes. He who never made a mistake never made a discovery. Have you made a mistake or failure? If yes, my advice is; yesterday is gone, live your today and plan your tomorrow letting yesterday’s experience help you.
What achievers call their mistakes is experience- today’s experience for tomorrow’s achievement. He that lost anything and gets wisdom by it is a gainer by the loss. A mistake is a catalyst to a creative mind. For the discovery of what is false leads to earnestly seeking what is true. Failure, therefore in a sense, is a highway to success. Failure is often the first necessary step towards success. Avoid frustration after a mistake as it means over blaming yourself for your failures. Someone has explained failure to mean yesterday’s experience for tomorrow’s success.
Where you are going is more important than where you have been. Look forward. I am not much interested in the past. I am more interested in the future for that is where I expect to spend or rather invest the rest of my life.
Making a mistake is unavoidable on the road of achievement. Be encouraged to try again. There is no effort without errors and shortcomings, yet he who errs is better than he that makes no effort. Life spent making mistakes is more honourable and useful than the one spent doing nothing. Discovering what does not work is also a success. People who fear failure do not make great attempts. But you can never tell what you can achieve until you try. What isn’t tried will never work. Winning start with beginning. A lot of people approach risk as if it is an enemy, when it is really a gateway to great achievements. Unless you enter the beehive you cannot take the honey. We must attempt the impossible to achieve all the possible. Our doubts are traitors and they make us to loose what we often might win by fearing
In a great attempt, it is glorious even to fail. Try great things. Those who try sometimes loose but those who do not act always loose. One thing is certain: what isn’t tried wont work. My uncle is being referred to today as a one time presidential aspirant. That is an honour from a great attempt. As in athletics, it is not the most qualified or the strongest that receives the crown but those who enter the combat, for from the combatants come victors, so it is that only those who act win rightly what is noble and good in life. Supply is an active force. It goes to those who are alive and active.
What we think or what we know or believe is, in the end, of little consequences. The only consequence is what we do. The world doesn’t pay you for what you know, it will pay for what you do. Knowledge is like a garden; if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested. Principles work only if you work on them. And eureka is for those who work on the principles. If you want to be victorious, you must be ready for a fight. If you are afraid of taking risk, success is far from you. A footballer who is afraid of breaking his leg and a trader who is afraid of loosing his money will never perform well. In taking action there are risks and costs but a tortoise does not get ahead unless he sticks his neck out. There is no gain except by loss; there is no life except by death. According to the law of the vegetable kingdom; except a corn of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abide alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit. Year by year man preserves his supply of grain by throwing away the choicest part. For a time it must be hidden under the soil to be watched over by the Creator. Then appears the blade, then the ear, and then the corn in the ear. But this development cannot take place unless the grain is buried out of sight, hidden, and to all appearance lost. A farmer does not bury his precious yam seeds in the soil because he has much yams, but because he wants to have much yams. He may even borrow to do this, to have an enviable harvest.
He that saves his life will lose it, but he that looses his life will gain it even abundantly. Don’t spend your life, invest it.
You cannot afford to be inactive. Action may not always bring happiness but there cant be happiness without action. Everyone has talent but only a few has the courage to follow their talents across hills and valleys it leads. You will never stub your toe while standing still. The faster you go the more chances there is of stumbling your toe but the more chances you have of getting somewhere. Anything that you want which is valuable requires that you break through some short-term pain to gain a long term pleasure. Loosers see the pain, winners see only the gain. And the more valuable a project, the more efforts it requires. Nothing venture, nothing gain. Work is a divine assignment. The way to success remain that old path of hard work and perseverance. One of the clearest truths of this life is that there is no success without persistence. The longer and harder you work in the right direction, the closer you are to success.
Great success comes from the ability to handle and solve great problems. If you can give them what they need, they will give you what you need. There is nothing free under the sun. Whatever you want, pay the price and you will have it. Only talented men with perseverance succeed. This world is full of unsuccessful talented people. The way to win a crown is to take part in the struggle for it. The road to rest must pass through toil and there is no victory that is not preceded by a battle. If you loose, try again. Honey is sweet; but there can be no honey without bees. And you know that bees sting. There must be trials, temptations, difficulties, battles on the road to any meaningful achievement. Let me say it again that those who are afraid of battle or failure will never know success. If you try and fail, try and pass. Try again, try again, again and again. All who have succeeded today failed yesterday. They succeeded through trying again. Being born means being a participant in the arena of life, where opposition is fierce and winning comes to those who exert every ounce of energy. You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it. Even if you fail at the eleventh attempt, the twelfth is still very promising. The gap between failure and success is very small. Just one more trial can bridge the gap, and you be declared successful. So try one more time. The word satisfaction is a combination of a Latin word “Satis” meaning “enough” and English word “action”.
Satisfaction comes from enough of action so take enough action and you will achieve S-a-t-i-s-f-a-c-t-i-o-n (satis of action). Failure is said to be an opportunity lost to begin again more intelligently. You may encounter many defeats, but you must refuse to be defeated. Success means winning the war not every battle. You may have lost many battles but surely, you will win the war.
The greatest failure is failure to try. There is no substitute for experience. No matter how bad your past might be, believe that your future will be good. Frustration is over blaming yourself for your past failures. Yesterday ended last night. Today you are born again. Old things have passed away. Forget those things that are behind and press forward. It is more valuable to look ahead and prepare to succeed than to look back and live in regrets. The feelings of regret have never made anyone great. Nobody ever travels the road to greatness without one or two tire punctures. Greatness is never achieved by never falling, but by rising each time we fall. We learn from failure if we have right attitude. Failure is a detour, not a cul-de-sac. It is a delay not a final defeat. If they close the door, go through the window. If they close the window, try the roof. If that is not possible, make a tunnel. There is always a road to success. Never loose hope in life. If the river Jordan fails to dry for you as it did for Joshua and his people, swim across it. You cant get drowned. The Great one is in you. With Him in the boat you can smile at the storm. Each new day is a new beginning. At times life begins when you desire to die.
