Health is wealth: It is better to be poor, but strong and healthy, than to be rich, but in poor health. A sound healthy body and a cheerful attitude are more valuable than gold and jewels. Nothing can make you richer or give you greater happiness than those two things. It would be better to be dead, asleep forever, than to live in the misery of chronic illness. The finest food means nothing if you are too ill to eat it, it might as well be offered to an idol. But there is no point in offering food to an idol, it can’t eat it or smell it. It is just the same with someone afflicted with chronic illness. He looks at his food and sighs, like a castrated man hugging a girl (Sirach 30.4-2). For a man to be- strong, healthy and cheerful always, he has to practice, follow and obey all these laws of health
1. PROPER DIET: From creation man was crested to eat vegetables, nut and grains. The early men lived on vegetables alone without eating meat or flesh of dead animals. Eat fruits, like plantain, banana, pawpaw, oranges, cucumber, carrot, pineapple, apple; guava etc. Eat carbohydrates with enough vegetables. Take enough clean fish, fresh or dried. Take white meat and avoid much red meat if it can be possible for you.
2. EXERCISE: Labour and exercise are beneficial to every part of the body. Walking few bus stops daily will give life and strength to your body system. Make sure you do some work or walk for sweat to come out of your body every day. Going out doors for exercise every morning before taking your bath will help the liver, kidney and lungs to be strengthened to perform their work. Over weight people should not play with morning exercise to control t heir weight in order to avoid killer disease.
3. RESTING: The Seventh day of the week is just created for rest (Exodus: 20: 8). The body needs this rest. Rest your brain, hands, legs, eye, car, mind and the entire body. Makes sure that, in your rest, you add enough sleep. Rest your stomach for about 5 hours before the next meal. Always go to sleep early and rest your entire body and stay for hours before bedtime.
4. POSITIVE THINKING: A positive thought affects your blood cells and relaxes your mind and heart beats which influences your behavior. A constructive mental attitude is always good for your health. Avoid the over ambitious anxiety of life. “A merry heart is a healing to the bone” says the wise man-Solomon.
5. DIVINE POWER: Among all the laws of health, “Trusting in the laws health “Trusting in DIVINE POWER” is the greatest. Pray and confess your sins before our heavenly father Yahweh, promise and determine that in the future you will live a righteous life. Fear the Almighty Yahweh and keep His commandments, so that it shall be well with your soul. Dietary Laws in Leviticus Chapter 11 & Deut. 14 will help you live a healthy life. Avoid food that will contaminate your blood and believe in divine power.
